We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to build, maintain, and expand automated testing capabilities for a climate data platform that delivers complex environmental and sustainability datasets through web applications, APIs, and downloadable reports.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and data validation testing.
- Build and execute automated regression suites covering web application workflows, APIs, role-based access, and critical user journeys.
- Develop automated data accuracy tests that validate consistency across source data, APIs, user interfaces, and exported files.
- Create environment-to-environment comparison testing to verify data integrity across development, UAT, and production environments.
- Partner with product managers, developers, and data engineers to define test strategies and acceptance criteria for new features and infrastructure changes.
- Analyze defects, identify root causes, and expand regression coverage to prevent recurrence.
- Support release readiness activities through automated smoke, performance, and security testing.
- Maintain test data, test environments, and automation frameworks as the platform evolves.
- Produce clear test reports and quality metrics to support deployment decisions.
Technical Qualifications
- 5+ years of QA Automation experience in web-based applications
- Strong Selenium WebDriver expertise (building and maintaining UI automation frameworks, not just executing tests)
- Strong Python development skills
- Hands-on experience with Pytest for API automation
- Experience testing REST APIs (request/response validation, authentication, role-based testing, regression testing)
- Postman proficiency for API exploration, debugging, and test case development
- Experience with data validation and data accuracy testing, including comparing data across APIs, UI, exports, and source files
- Experience building and maintaining automated regression suites for UI and APIs
- Experience with CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Strong SQL/data querying skills for validation and troubleshooting
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
