We are looking for a detail-oriented Release Coordinator to oversee and streamline the end-to-end release process. In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor build health and testing progress, manage bug triage, and ensure smooth and timely product releases. You will act as a central point of communication, proactively identifying risks and driving their resolution to maintain high-quality delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Execution & Status Reporting

  • Release Updates: Notify the release team daily on the status of all active releases, highlighting previous blocker resolutions and defining top priorities for the day.
  • System Health Monitoring: Update stakeholders on build system health metrics (pass/fail rates). File bugs for any failures and actively monitor them for updates.
  • Build Sign-off: Confirm the status of daily and continuous builds. Alert Release Engineering of any blocking failures and monitor their resolution status.
  • End-of-Day Summary: Prepare concise daily summary emails detailing progress, blockers encountered, and overall risk assessments for key stakeholders.

QA & Bug Management

  • Test Case Management: Monitor manual test efforts throughout the week. Ensure testers complete assigned cases, identify completion blockers, and flag low-priority or frequently skipped items for archival.
  • Test Triage: Review newly filed automated test bugs and route them to the correct module team owners for immediate action.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively flag releases where testing is behind schedule or automated tests have failed, engaging the corresponding module teams for resolution.
  • Process Audit: Create post-mortem bugs for all major shipping blockers and ensure assigned reviewers formally sign off on the analysis.

Cross-Platform and Backup Coverage

  • Documentation Alignment: Review release documentation across platforms to ensure all procedures and notes are consistent and aligned.
  • App Store Coordinator Backup: Act as a trained backup for the App Store release coordinator, filling in when necessary.
  • App Store Triage: Review bugs assigned to the App Store queue and route them to the correct owners across various teams.
  • Release Management: Initiate new App Store release builds; initiate and monitor the ramping process to subsequent canary stages, notifying owners immediately of any failures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software release coordination, project management, or technical operations.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical status and risks clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with bug tracking systems and monitoring build system health metrics.
  • Adept at triaging technical issues and routing them to appropriate engineering teams.
  • Ability to manage manual test efforts and analyze test case efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on process documentation and post-mortem analysis.
  • Capable of acting as a backup for high-stakes release processes and canary deployments.

Conditions:

  • Exceptional project and team
  • Long term project
  • Challenging tasks
  • Remote friendly
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • No micromanagement
