We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer with hands-on experience in the Android ecosystem to help ensure the stability and quality of a global mobile marketplace. You will work closely with developers and release teams, performing manual testing across devices, validating user flows, and identifying issues before release.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Marketplace & Feature Testing

  • End-to-End Testing: Execute comprehensive manual test suites for a global mobile application marketplace, focusing on app discovery, installation flows, and digital commerce features.
  • Feature Validation: Verify new feature releases within the Android ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with core system services and OS-level functionalities.
  • Regression Testing: Perform rigorous regression cycles on marketplace updates to ensure stability across a diverse range of Android device models and OS versions.
  • User Experience Auditing: Evaluate the UI/UX of application storefronts, reporting inconsistencies in layout, localization, and navigation.

Bug Management & Reporting

  • Detailed Bug Documentation: Identify, reproduce, and document software defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and screen captures.
  • Defect Triage: Categorize and prioritize bugs based on severity and impact on the end-user experience, routing them to the appropriate engineering teams.
  • Verification: Re-test resolved issues to confirm fixes are effective and have not introduced secondary regressions.

Test Execution & Process Improvement

  • Test Suite Maintenance: Review and update manual test cases to reflect new feature requirements and evolving platform standards.
  • Execution Tracking: Provide clear, daily status updates on test progress, highlighting potential blockers that could impact release timelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Release Coordinators and Developers to provide real-time feedback on build stability and “Go/No-Go” readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Android Expertise: Deep familiarity with the Android operating system, including navigation, settings, and common app behaviors across different versions.
  • Testing Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in manual software testing, specifically for mobile applications or digital storefronts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to capture and interpret Android logs (ADB/ logcat) and use bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Buganizer).
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to identify edge cases and “look around corners” to find non- obvious defects.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical issues clearly for engineering teams.
  • Device Management: Experience testing across a fragmented device landscape (various OEMs, screen sizes, and hardware specs).

Conditions:

  • Exceptional project and team
  • Long term project
  • Challenging tasks
  • Remote friendly
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • No micromanagement
