The Accessibility Test Lead drives quality assurance strategies across Google software (web, Android, Workspace) and hardware platforms. You will champion Google Accessibility Requirements (GAR), ensuring all released products deliver seamless, inclusive experiences for users of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities
GAR Standard Enforcement: Lead GAR compliance testing across feature teams, mapping internal GAR metrics against international standards like WCAG 2.1/2.2 (A/AA), Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
Test Strategy & Leadership: Define, build, and execute combined automated and manual testing strategies tailored to GAR design principles and platform constraints.
Assistive Technology Evaluation: Conduct hands-on validation using native screen readers (TalkBack, ChromeVox, NVDA, JAWS), switch access, high-contrast displays, voice access, and braille hardware.
CI/CD Automation Integration: Integrate internal GAR automated scanning tools and open-source engines (e.g., axe-core, Lighthouse) directly into development and deployment pipelines.
Audit, Triage & Remediation: Manage complex accessibility audits, prioritize GAR violation backlogs, and directly advise engineering teams on remediation paths.
- Training & Governance: Standardize GAR testing protocols, author QA documentation, and mentor engineers and test teams on GAR guidelines.
